Growth Does Not Require Comfort

Public speaking has always been one of my greatest challenges.

I do it anyway, both in my professional and personal life. But each time, the emotional toll is high. Sleepless nights. Nerves. Anxiety that sits heavy in my body.

So when a client I have been working with for over four years asked me to speak at her wedding under the chuppah, I felt torn.

Every instinct said no.

But I also knew how meaningful this moment was. I knew the journey she had taken to get here. And I knew that I speak to my clients every single day about stepping outside of their comfort zones.

So I did what growth often requires. I said yes.

I spent weeks preparing. I chose to speak in Hebrew even though English felt safer.

On the day of the wedding, my body felt every ounce of fear. Shaking legs. Lightheaded. A spinning mind.

And then it was my turn to speak.

With quiet self-talk and my husband’s reassuring support, I stood up and delivered my words with love, even as my hands trembled.

I left that wedding with a deep sense of pride. The kind that only comes from doing the thing you wanted to run from.

Growth rarely feels comfortable. But it always teaches us something about who we are becoming.

And that is exactly how I coach. Not from a place of ease, but from a place of lived experience. Choosing courage again and again.
