Our brains are powerful tools.
They are the catalyst for our greatest successes,
but also the cause of our biggest downfalls.
Our minds offer us thoughts nonstop.
So many thoughts. Some positive. Many of them negative.
And they are often so believable and convincing.
But what if your ability to manage your mind, your thinking,
was the key to a happier, more fulfilling life?
Let me show you. An example fresh from today!
Thought Process A
I woke up this morning feeling defeated.
I haven’t worked out daily in months.
My body is so out of shape and I feel like I will never get back into it.
What’s the point?
Something will probably happen soon that will disrupt my routine anyway.
Great, I did a beginner workout.
I cannot believe how weak I am.
I was lifting much heavier weights just a few short months ago.
I will never get back to where I was.
Thought Process B
I am feeling kind of defeated, but let me see what I can do this morning to get into a better headspace.
I haven’t worked out in a while, but today feels like the right time to start.
Let me do something short and gentle so I can feel good about where I am and not push my body too hard.
Wow, that was hard.
It is incredible how a few months off can really set me back.
But this has happened before, and I was able to get back into a routine and gradually work my way up again.
Way to go. I am proud of you for starting.
You get to work out, and today was just day one.
Every day will get easier.
Same circumstance.Very different way of thinking.
One thought process leaves me feeling defeated and deflated.
The other is empowering and motivating.
The difference is mind management.
You cannot always control what happens in your life.
But you can learn to choose the voice that narrates it.
When you change the way you think,
you change what feels possible.
This is not about being positive.
It is about being intentional.
Your thoughts are not facts.
They are simply stories your brain offers.
You get to decide which ones you believe.
And that choice changes everything.
