The 15-Minute Reset: What To Do When You Feel Overwhelmed

There are days when everything feels like a lot. (Today was one of those days for me.)

The house is noisy and messy, the WhatsApp messages keep pinging, everyone needs a ride, and your brain is already three steps ahead worrying about tomorrow. On those days, our default thought is often, "I don’t have time to deal with any of this."

So we do nothing.

We scroll a bit (or a lot), we shuffle piles of junk from one surface to another, we tell ourselves that "one day" we will catch up. And then we feel even more behind.

Here is what I want to offer you today -

You do not need a free afternoon.

You just need a 15-minute reset.

A 15-minute reset is a small, intentional pocket of time that shifts your energy, your space, or your mindset. It is tiny, but it is powerful. And it is exactly what I needed today.

Here are three simple ways to try it:

  1. Body reset

  2. Take 15 minutes to move your body. Walk up and down the block, stretch on the living room floor, drink a big glass of water and eat a real snack. Your body is not an afterthought. When you care for it, everything feels more manageable.

  3. Space reset

  4. Choose one surface and clear it. Just one. The kitchen island. Your nightstand. The bathroom counter. Set a timer, turn on music, and give yourself 15 minutes to put things back where they belong. One small orderly space can calm your nervous system more than you think.

  5. Mind reset

  6. Take a piece of paper and empty your brain. Write down every to-do, worry, and thought. Then circle the next three steps you will take today. Not everything. Just three. This creates clarity and a sense of direction instead of spinning.

Before you close this email, ask yourself - "What kind of reset do I need most right now: body, space, or mind?"

Then, choose one tiny action and set a 15-minute timer.

This is how real change is created, not in dramatic makeover days, but in small, intentional resets that you repeat again and again.

If you want support building these kinds of simple systems into your daily life, so that overwhelm is not running the show, be in touch and tell me which area you most want to work on. I would love to hear from you.

Purpose Does Not Retire

This morning, I traveled to Sheba Hospital with my sister to do some bloodwork. Thank God, all is well! We weren’t sure where the department was, but we noticed an information booth with older volunte
