The Box You Never Opened

I just finished reading The Measure by Nikki Erlick, and I can't stop thinking about it.
The premise - one day, every adult over 22 receives a small box with a string inside, the length of their life. Some open it. Some don't. The book follows the ripple effects of that choice, how people rethink their careers, their relationships, their dreams, their whole sense of what matters.
It's profound. And uncomfortably relatable.
Because here's the thing - we already have a string. We just can't see it. For some of us it's longer, for others shorter. But it's there.
As a coach, I hear "I don't have time" constantly. I see people hesitate to chase bold dreams and stay safely inside the comfort zone they've outgrown. And while I'm not saying we should quit everything and live like every day is our last, I am saying this - there’s a big difference between the life you're just happening to live and the life that you truly want to live.
Maybe you love to travel but can't walk away from everything. Rather than go full nomad, maybe you just need to travel more. If you are feeling unfulfilled in your daily routine, then why wait to switch it up? If you are feeling sluggish and unhealthy, what would one small change look like this week with regard to your health?
We don't need a box on our doorstep to wake up.
The time is now, and coaching might be exactly what helps you use it well. Reach out to learn more.
